WARREN RINGHAM
Trumpeter, Royal Air Force (RAF) musician and show producer.
Warren Ringham, trumpeter, Royal Air Force (RAF) musician and show producer.
Warren comes from a very musical family. His father was Paul Ringham, a notable trumpeter who played with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Warren started playing trumpet quite young — he began at age 9, encouraged by his father. He studied at the Royal College of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree.
RAF Career.
Warren joined Royal Air Force Music Services as a musician and as Social Media Manager for RAF Music. He also has performed numerous ceremonial duties in the U.K. and globally.
Within RAF Music, he has arranged pieces for example, Maria from Bernstein’s West Side Story for four flugelhorns for an RAF program.
Outside of his RAF work, Warren is perhaps best known as the founder, producer, director, and trumpeter of the James Bond tribute band Q The Music. He started it partly out of his love for Bond films and film music. He personally does many of the transcriptions/arrangements for the band, especially to capture the authentic orchestral feel of John Barry’s Bond music
Warren cites John Barry (composer of many Bond scores) and John Williams among his major inspirations. His father, Paul Ringham, was also a big influence — not just in trumpet playing, but in his work in film and orchestral music.
Warren is unique because he genuinely straddles two musical worlds — military/ceremonial music (via RAF) and popular-film-score concert music (via Q The Music). Checkout qthemusicshow.com
For brass players and trumpeters, his combination of high-level performance, arrangement skill, and leadership in both military and civilian musical spheres makes him a compelling figure.
